At the Animal Place, we are able to use our radiology and ultrasound equipment to help us see what our eyes cannot. For instance, X-rays are taken not only to check for internal abnormalities (tumors and/or foreign bodies), but also to view the pets bone composition. If the X-rays do not provide useful information, then we can use our ultrasound machine. The ultrasound machine is most often used to search for the pets’ bladder and collect a sterile urine sample.
